The Nokia 1208 looks like a very simple phone but it packs a lot into its simple exterior. Don’t expect loads of stunning features from the Nokia 1208 as it just a standard phone but works well. Many users have drawn parallels between the Nokia 1208 and the old Nokia 3310 and they are right but the difference is, when the Nokia 3310 was first released it as cutting edge and the best phone on the market. The Nokia 1208 however was made specifically for people who just want a phone that calls and texts and doesn’t have any fancy functions. The Nokia 1208 comes in three colours, black, pink and blue so it’s perfect for a first time phone for pre-teens.

Features of the Nokia 1208

·         SMS Messaging. The Nokia 1208, like all phones, can use SMS Messaging or to put it in familiar terms – it can send and receive texts. The number of texts the inbox can store to be exact is 60 and the same for the sent/outbox.

·         Flashlight. Five years ago there was a craze of mobile phones having flashlights as many people used them to see in the dark. The Nokia 1208 has a flashlight situated on its top.

·         Standby Time. The Nokia 1208 has an impressive 365 hours of standby time.

·         Preloaded Games. The Nokia 1208 comes with two preloaded games although these aren’t named on the Nokia website. Games are not available to download.

·         Dual Band. As a Dual Band phone the Nokia 1208 can be used abroad but only in Europe and America.

·         Price. The Nokia 1208 can be bought for as little as £20 on a pay as you go tariff.

·         Power Saver Mode. Even though the Nokia 1208 has a standby time of 365 hours it can be longer with the power saver mode which puts the phone into a sleep state when it hasn’t been used for half an hour or more.

Bad Points of the Nokia 1208

·         Although the Nokia 1208 has 365 hours of standby time the talk time only totals 7 hours which some see as not enough and it means the Nokia 1208 needs charging a lot.

·         Small SMS Inbox. The inbox of the Nokia 1208 only holds 60 messages which some see as a tiny amount. In fact it is only 20 more than the old Nokia 3310 used to hold.
